Commemorative Postage Stamp released on Sachin Tendulkar 200 Test Match at Wankhade Stadium Mumbai on 14/11/2013

Mumbai: Union Law Minister Kapil Sibal released commemorative postage stamps to pay tribute to Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday at Wankhade Stadium, Mumbai before the start of 2nd Cricket Test match between India and West Indies.
 On Thursday, as Indian and cricket fans got set to seeSachin Tendulkar walk out for his last Test match a postage stamp in honour of Sachin Tendulkar was released. India take on West Indies in Sachin Tendulkar's 200th and final Test at his home ground at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. MS Dhoni won the toss and to the disdain of fans opted to bowl first which meant the fans would have to wait to see the 40-year-old star bat. Milind Deora, Sharad Pawar and Rajeev Shukla took to the ground to honouring Sachin release the stamp Tendulkar ahead of the second Test between India and West Indies.Tendulkar is is the only Indian living person after Mother Teresa to receive this honour, claims Deora.

GRANT OF TA & TRANSIT (TA & TP) TO OFFICIALS TRANSFERRED ON COMPLETION OF TENURE TO THE PLACE OF THEIR CHOICE . A proposal on grant TA and transit to officials who are transferred on completion of tenure to the place of their choice was under consideration in this Directorate for sometime past.      SR-114 governs TA on transfer distinguishes between transfer for public convenience and transfer on own request.  Although transfer on completion of tenure in one office has not been specifically referred to in this rule, yet the transfer on completion of tenure is a transfer for public convenience.  On completion of tenure, the official has to be transferred out for operational reasons.  Therefore, such a transfer is mandatory, while posting to a place of choice is secondary and subject to public convenience.  In view of this posting to a place of choice after completion of full tenure may not be normally termed as a "transfer on own request" ...
