Coming soon, Post Bank of India The postal department plans to enter the banking business with the Reserve Bank of India deciding to grant new bank licences to entities with credible track-record. Consultant appointed Sources said the Department of Posts, which has a strong foot print in rural areas, has appointed Ernst and Young (E&Y) as the consultant for the proposed ‘Post Bank’ “Ernst and Young is expected to submit a detailed project report by April, after which all the necessary measures will be taken up to apply for banking licence,” a source at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology told PTI. The sources added that the Department of Post (DoP) might need Cabinet approval for setting up Post Bank of India. Of the 1.55 lakh post offices in the country, around 24,000 district offices may be ready to offer banking services in the next two years. Purely in-justice done by DOP to the Postmaster Cadre

This is regarding issue related to Department of Posts, in which some officials are deprived of the legitimate opportunity as a Citizen/Employee as per the Constitution and against to the Article 14 and 16 of Indian Constitution.   The Details are narrated below. W.r.t. to Memo No. 4-17/2008-SPB-II issued by the DOP dated 22-11-2011, it is mentioned in the letter that consequent on induction of technology in Postal Operations there is a requirement of Professional Managers to manage the key post offices and hence the cadre of Postmaster is created carving out the posts from the existing LSG, HSG II, HSG III.   Precisely the in-justice done the Postmaster Cadre is as follows. 1.        Postmaster Grade I posts are Carved out from LSG Vacancies.   The duties and responsibilities of Postmaster Grade I and LSG Postmaster are same even more for Postmaster Grade I to live up to the spirit of creation of Post master Cadre. Why the Demands of Postmaster Cadre are not mentioned as strike demands/Departmental Council. Atleast it might have mentioned in the present strike demands in such a way to settle the unsettled demands of previous strikes. What happens If all the Postmaster Grade I/II/III officials do not partcipate in strike and demotiave the juniors in such a way that the Trade Unions are against to the early promotions to the juniors through LDCEs and the Trade Unions are upholding the spirit of directorate that is the Operative Staff should not enter into Administrative line. All India Association of Postmaster Cadre, successful Circle Level Meeting at Trichy on 10.02.13 for Tamilnadu Circle

7th CPC expected pay scales and a brief on Previous Pay Commissions

First Pay Commission The first pay commission was constituted in 1946 and the government appointed Srinivasa Varadacharia as Chairman of this commission. The first pay commission was based upon the idea of “living wages” to the employees, this idea was taken from the Islington Commission and the commission observed that “the test formulated by the Islington Commission is only to be liberally interpreted to suit the conditions of the present day and to be qualified by the condition that in no case should be a man’s pay be less than a living wage. The minimum basic pay for Class IV staff has been raised from Rs. 10/- to Rs. 30/- and for Class III from Rs. 35/- to Rs. 60/- per month. The Commission had fixed Rs. 55/- as minimum wage (Rs. 30 plus Rs. 25 as Dearness Allowance). The recommendations were accepted and implemented in 1946.
