Cabinet approves Productivity Linked Bonus to railway employees

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval to pay Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days wages to eligible non-gazetted railway employees (excluding RPF/RPSF personnel) for the financial year 2015-16. The approval entails a financial implication of approximately Rs.2090.96 crore.  Payment of PLB would result in motivating a large number of railway employees to improve the performance of the Railways and enhance the productivity levels further besides maintaining industrial peace.  The payment of this Bonus to eligible Railway Employees will be made before Dussehra/Puja holidays.  ******* AKT/VBA/SH  (Release ID :151187)

BONUS (PLB) CEILING IS LIKELY TO INCREASE BY THE GOVERNMENT It is learnt that Government is considering to revise calculation ceiling from the present level of Rs. 3500/- per month to Rs. 7000/- per month or th minimum wages for the scheduled employment as fixed by the appropriate Government, whichever is higher.  Government has yet not fixed the minimum wages. It was also learnt that Government is going to fix the minimum wages at a level which is respectable.  Under this circumstances, on an average the calculation ceiling for the purpose of bonus would be Rs. 10000/- per month.
