Sashastra Seema Bal or SSB (Armed Border Force) is one of India's Central Armed Police Forces. It is often referred to as a paramilitary force. It is currently under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India. It was formerly known as the Special Service Bureau. SSB was set up in early 1963 in the wake of the Sino-Indian War. The primary task of the force was to provide armed support for RAW and secondary task was to inculcate feelings of national belonging in the border population and develop their capabilities for resistance through a continuous process of motivation, training, development, welfare programs and activities in the then NEFA, North Assam, North Bengal, hills of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh and many other areas. JCM (DEPARTMENTAL COUNCIL) MEETING JCM Departmental Council meeting was held on 27.11.2013 under the Chairpersonship of Ms. P. Gopinath, Secretary, Department of Posts at Dak Bhawan, New Delhi. The discussion lasted for more than four hours. All the notified items of the agenda are discussed. The minutes will be published on its receipt. Secretary, Posts and Chairperosn, JCM (DC) has made it clear that no circle level item will be entertained in the JCM (DC) and all the Circle level items should be discussed in the circle level JCM (Regional Council) meetings. Only those items which are not settled at circle level JCM will be discussed in the JCM (DC). For that the reply given by the Chief PMGs in the Circle JCM should be submitted. Tata Sons withdraws application for new bank license: RBI

Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, has withdrawn its application for a domestic banking license, RBI said in a statement on Wednesday. "The company has indicated that its current financial services operating model best supports the needs of the Tata Group's domestic and overseas strategy, and provides adequate operating flexibility to its companies, while securing the interests of the Group's diverse stakeholder base," the Reserve Bank of India said.  The RBI has accepted the application withdrawal request, according to the statement.  Tata Sons had filed the application on July 1, according to the RBI. Companies in the Tata Group include Tata Consultancy ServicesBSE -0.52 % Ltd, Tata Motors LtdBSE 2.31 %, and Tata SteelBSE 0.73 % Ltd.  RBI had said in September that Value Industries, a unit of diversified conglomerate Videocon Industries BSE 0.03 % Ltd, had also withdrawn its application.  Source : The Economic Times

MEETING ON CADRE RESTRUCTURING THE MEETING ON CADRE RESTRUCTURING WAS ELD ON 28TH SEPTEMBER 2011 AFTER REVISING THE COMMITTEE.THE CHAIRMAN REQUESTED TE STAFF SIDE TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS A FRESH.TE GS NAPEC ASKED FOR THE OLD COMMITTEE REPORT WIC CAN BE USED AS BASE.THE GENERAL SECRETARY SUBMITTED FURTER PROPOSALS ON THE CADRE RESTRUCTURING.THE PROPOSALS ARE SUMMED UP UNDER. CADRE RESTRUCTURING IN DEPARTMENT OF POSTS PROPOSALS OF NAPE, GROUP C FOR POSTMASTER CADRE Department of Posts has introduced fast track promotion scheme in February 2002 and conducted two examinations in the years 2003 & 2004. As the scheme was introduced on experimental basis for a period of 2 years and Department has reviewed the scheme after the said 2 years and decided to continue the same. But due to strong opposition from staff side the said scheme was withdrawn w.e.f 18.05.2006.Now the department has unilaterally taken a decision to introduce Postmaster cadre vide its order
