POSTAL LIFE INSURANCE(PLI) LIMIT RAISED FROM 20 LAKHS TO 50 LAKHS To mark the Good Governance Day, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today announced that the limit of postal life insurance has been raised from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh, besides launching one-month rental-free MTNL broadband and landline combo plans on new bookings. The 21 schemes he announced also included support for international patent protection in electronics and an Internet-based real-time system to provide eServices in rural India. December 25 is being celebrated across the country as Good Governance Day, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said was ushered in by the previous NDA regime led by Atal Bihar Vajpayee and is being carried out in this government. NO REDUCTION IN RETIREMENT AGE There is no proposal under consideration of Government to reduce the retirement age from 60 to 58 years for its employees.  The retirement age for Central Government employees was revised from 58 to 60 years in 1997 on the basis of recommendations of the 5th Central Pay Commission.  The Centre’s total wages and salaries bill for its employees for the year 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 is Rs. 85,963.50 crore, Rs. 92,264.88 crore and Rs. 1,04,759.71 crore, respectively.  This was stated by the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply to Sardar Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Dr. T Subbarami Reddy and Smt. PRESS NOTE Attention of the Government has been drawn to some news items appearing in a section of the press regarding proposal of the Central Government to reduce the retirement age of Central Government employees from 60 years to 58 years. It is clarified that Government has no proposal to reduce the age of Central Government employees from 60 years to 58 years.

Commission's visit to Jodhpur The Commission, headed by its Chairman, Justice Shri A. K. Mathur, proposes to visit Jodhpur from 12 th  to 15 th  December, 2014. RELAXATION TO TRAVEL BY PRIVATE AIRLINES TO VISIT J&K No.31011/7/2014-Estt.(A-IV) Government of India Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Department of Personnel and Training North Block, New Delhi-110 001 Dated: 28th November, 2014 OFFICE MEMORANDUM Subject:-  Central Civil Services (Leave Travel Concession) Rules, 1988 — Relaxation to travel by private airlines to visit J&K. The undersigned is directed to refer to this Ministry’s O.M. No.31011/3/2014- Estt.(A-1V) dated 26th September, 2014. It has been decided that the Government servants while availing Leave Travel Concession (LTC) to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) under the special dispensation scheme allowed by the aforesaid O.M. may also travel by private airlines subject to the following conditions:- (i) Officers entitled to travel by air may also travel by private airlines from their headquarters; (ii) Officers not entitled to travel by air may be permitted to travel
PRE-IMPLEMENTATION ACTIVITIES TOWARDS RURAL ICT IN BRANCH POST OFFICES I.          The BO should have table to place the Handheld Device and for charging the device.   II.          The electrical power connection is required to charge the  Solar UPS  wherever power is available. In the locations where electrical power is not available, the UPS will be charged from  Solar Panel .    III.          The locations where electrical power connection is there, it should have proper earthing and with one or two plug points along with on/off switch.     IV.          The above site preparation is to be done before the roll out starts for the particular Division.      V.          The data on BO such as the  name of the BPM ,  contact details ,  address of the BO with land marks  etc. may be updated and kept ready.     VI.          The availability of the  network connectivity (Vodafone/ BSNL / Airtel etc.) at the BO location may also accessed and the best signal available in the
GRANT OF COMPENSATORY OFF TO OFFICIALS WHO ARE BROUGHT ON DUTY ON 26.10.14.
LETTER BOX CLEARANCE THROUGH MINI AUTO - SERVICE LAUNCHED IN HYDERABAD CITY Now letter boxes in city for selected Post offices are to be cleared by utilizing mini auto services.   The LB clearance starts from    Himayat nagar Post office and    passes through   Banjarahills,    Film nagar, Jubileehills, Cyberabad (Hitech city),    Gachibowli and Kothaguda delivery post offices LB located in road Points.    Total 28 LBs are proposed to clear through this auto.
