"The panel's work is in its final stages," said a senior officer A panel headed by former finance secretary Ashok Lavasa, tasked with examining the 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC) recommendations on allowances, might have its final meeting on Tuesday, followed by its report going to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Business Standard has learnt. The matter will then go to the Union Cabinet, on revised allowances for 4.7 million employees. Officials said most of the work on the report was complete. "The panel's work is in its final stages," said a senior officer. If the minister accepts the report, it will only be a matter of days before the Cabinet takes up the matter. It is understood the Centre wants to give the revised allowances from early 2017-18. Sources said that the Allowance Committee Meeting has finalized a proposal on HRA. It will be finalized in the Meeting held on 25th October 2016. It is said that the proposed Meeting under the Chairmanship of DOPT Secretary (P) with the Secretary Staff Side, NC (JCM) is to firm up the view on various allowances pertaining to Department of Personnel & Training. New Delhi: The central government is likely to announce fatter allowances under the 7th Pay Commission recommendations for its 4.8 million employees, in a bid to ease the inflationary pressure, Finance Ministry official sources said. Anomaly in  pay fixation on MACP Eg.  Employees getting MACP – 2 promotion on PA/SA cadre this year are fixed at the Basic pay of 50600/- .  Whereas those will be promoted next year will be fixed with the Basic Pay of 47600/-. A single increment difference in service shows three increment differences in new pay matrix. Those at Basic pay of 16990 by this 1st July,  are with basic pay of 44100 , with two addition increments  next year this will goes to 46800/- in 2800 grade pay  and will be sit at the basic pay of 47600/- in 4200 column with a  hike of 800/-.
