MILE STONE IN POSTMASTER CADRE - MUMBAI REGIONAL CONFERENCE HELD ON 19.05.2013

Beating the summer heat the Mumbai region Postmasters attended the meeting with great enthusiasm and zeal.

The following items are resolved:

1. Resolved that to form an adhoc committee for Mumbai Region:

Committee formed unanonymously. The list of elected office bearers will be published in this blog shortly.

2. Resolved that 2ndCircle Conference of Maharashtra will be held at Kolhapuron 16thJune 2013. All the members are asked to make their Presence of by booking their tickets in advance.

3. During the meeting the DAK BHAVAN visit was briefed.

4. Resolved that Rs.500/- will be collected from each postmaster cadre
official as donation on receipt.

5. Resolved that as our demand of formation of association for all India Postmaster Cadre at centre level is accepted and the processing is ON all postmaster cadre official should put up resignation to their currently attached P3 federations to enable them to enroll them in The All India Association of Postmaster Cadre, Branch:Mumbai Region exclusively for Postmasters of India Post for Mumbai region.
The meeting concluded with vote of thanks and National Anthem.

GRANT OF TA & TRANSIT (TA & TP) TO OFFICIALS TRANSFERRED ON COMPLETION OF TENURE TO THE PLACE OF THEIR CHOICE . A proposal on grant TA and transit to officials who are transferred on completion of tenure to the place of their choice was under consideration in this Directorate for sometime past.      SR-114 governs TA on transfer distinguishes between transfer for public convenience and transfer on own request.  Although transfer on completion of tenure in one office has not been specifically referred to in this rule, yet the transfer on completion of tenure is a transfer for public convenience.  On completion of tenure, the official has to be transferred out for operational reasons.  Therefore, such a transfer is mandatory, while posting to a place of choice is secondary and subject to public convenience.  In view of this posting to a place of choice after completion of full tenure may not be normally termed as a "transfer on own request" ...
