The Department of Posts' Express Parcels' and 'Business Parcel service launched

Department of Posts , Ministry of Communications and Information Technology , today 's Express Parcels ' and ' Business Parcel service launched .

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Gopinath said, " express parcel service is a leading service for retail and wholesale customers . It is bound at home , safe and secure parcel delivery offers . The need to minimize transit time will be given parcel airlift . For wholesale customers ' business parcel " would cause a cheaper alternative .

The purpose of these two new parcel services offering reliable and low cost delivery system in India is to promote e- commerce market . Express parcel delivery parcel at a certain time where the air mail service, parcel service business on the ground faster , safer and cheaper will provide transportation . The services which are cash on delivery service for today's e-commerce service is a required condition .

Business ' parcel ' nationwide field , however , express parcel service initially will be available across 20 cities, Agra , Bangalore , Bhubaneshwar , Chennai , Delhi ( NCR ) , Patna , Guwahati , Hyderabad , Indore , Jaipur , Jammu , Kolkata , Lucknow , Ludhiana , Mumbai , Pune , Parwanoo , Shillong , Surat and Thiruvananthapuram . Ms. Gopinath said these two services will be expanded nationwide in a phased manner .

Revised norms of work of Postmen----for information of supervisory cadre

Department in Memo No 9-1/2005-WSI/PE-I dated 5.2.2010 has revised the norms for Postmen establishment as follows. The revised norms will also be applicable for GDS MD as per note below Rule 106 of Volume VI Part III.
