Growth in goods sent through speed post

The post office sent by Speed Post articles in 2012-13 than in 2011-12 has increased . However, in 2012-13 as compared to 2011-12 unregistered and registered a decline in the number of objects .

Communications and Information Technology, Shri Kapil Sibal told the Lok Sabha today in a written reply in 2012-13 compared to only 1.29 per cent of the total complaints received postal services . These complaints have been received and disposed of immediately following the time- limit was . Mr. Sibal said that the need for a more detailed examination in view of enclaves cases may take longer .

Revised norms of work of Postmen----for information of supervisory cadre

Department in Memo No 9-1/2005-WSI/PE-I dated 5.2.2010 has revised the norms for Postmen establishment as follows. The revised norms will also be applicable for GDS MD as per note below Rule 106 of Volume VI Part III. The Head of Circles and Regional PMsG are requested to undertake a review of the implementation of revised norms after six months and provide the for assessing the impact of new norms and undetaking a fresh review if considered necessary.
