UPSC APPROVED HSG-1 Recruitment Rules

Now it high time for all of us. UPSC has finally approved HSG-I recruitment rules which will be published as a gazette notification shortly . With this, many HSG-I vacant posts hitherto remaining, either unfilled or being run on adhoc basis will be filled in up by HSG-II officials as per their seniority.

But, what about Postmasters cadre ,who gave option to switch over to Postmaster cadre? will they also be considered for HSG-I ( General Line) ?. Will grade III posts which are hitherto managed by general line officials filled by grade II officials. We have to wait and watch.

Revised norms of work of Postmen----for information of supervisory cadre

Department in Memo No 9-1/2005-WSI/PE-I dated 5.2.2010 has revised the norms for Postmen establishment as follows. The revised norms will also be applicable for GDS MD as per note below Rule 106 of Volume VI Part III. The Head of Circles and Regional PMsG are requested to undertake a review of the implementation of revised norms after six months and provide the for assessing the impact of new norms and undetaking a fresh review if considered necessary.
