DEAR MEMBERS,

SOME OF OUR MEMBERS ARE CALLED ON WHETHER THERE WILL BE ANY IMPACT ON POST MASTER CADRE BY THE ABOVE STATED DIRECTORATE LETTER. THEREFORE, IT IS CLARIFIED THAT THERE WILL BE NO IMPACT ON POST MASTER CADRE BUT ON GENERAL LINE SUPERVISORY CADRE. EARLIER 58 POSTS WERE AVAILABLE FOR GENERAL LINE OFFICIALS FOR POSTAL SERVICE GROUP-B EXAMINATION i.e. 6%. NOW IT IS REDUCED TO 3% AS 29 POSTS (3%) WERE GIVEN FOR SENIOR POST MASTER POSTS FROM POST MASTER GRADE-III. THEREFORE, REVISION/AMENDMENT IN RECRUITMENT RULES FOR PS GROUP-B IS NEEDED. Revised norms of work of Postmen----for information of supervisory cadre

Department in Memo No 9-1/2005-WSI/PE-I dated 5.2.2010 has revised the norms for Postmen establishment as follows. The revised norms will also be applicable for GDS MD as per note below Rule 106 of Volume VI Part III. The Head of Circles and Regional PMsG are requested to undertake a review of the implementation of revised norms after six months and provide the for assessing the impact of new norms and undetaking a fresh review if considered necessary.
