A journey of thousand Miles begins with one Step

The first meeting of Postmaster Cadre held on 05-02-2012 in the premises of Buckinghampeta HO was a success with as many as 30 postmasters from distant places like  Vizag, Srikakulam, Tirupati, Puttur, Hyderabad etc., have attended the meeting and participated in deliberations on various issues. The above are tenative and final regional coordinators will be choosen on next regional meetings.

The divisional Secretaries of NFPE, FNPO were invited. Sri.A.Srinivasa Reddy, Divisional Secretary of FNPO, Vijayawada division  has attended the meeting.Due to domestic need, divisional secretary, NFPE, Vijayawada division could not attend the meeting.

Sri.Nageswararao, Gr-II , Satyanarayanapuram PO and Sri.A.Srinivasa Reddy, presided over the meeting.

The following decisions are taken at the meeting.

1.Not to form any separate union for Postmasters as it is not viable in the present context.
2.Form regional and circle coordination committees to bring to the notice of administration our grievances through the divisional secretaries of recognized unions.
3.Hold regional meetings through regional coodination committees.
4.Demand through trade unions 4200 grade pay. (More responsibility more pay)
5.The burning issue of post attached quarters which are inhabitable for various reasons should be brought to the notice of the concerned Postmasters General through regional coordinators.
6.Seek right to decline as it is available to all other promotions in all central government departments.
7.Seek right to appear for Group B/IP exam to encourage merit and seek speedy promotion to Postmasters Cadre.

GRANT OF TA & TRANSIT (TA & TP) TO OFFICIALS TRANSFERRED ON COMPLETION OF TENURE TO THE PLACE OF THEIR CHOICE . A proposal on grant TA and transit to officials who are transferred on completion of tenure to the place of their choice was under consideration in this Directorate for sometime past.      SR-114 governs TA on transfer distinguishes between transfer for public convenience and transfer on own request.  Although transfer on completion of tenure in one office has not been specifically referred to in this rule, yet the transfer on completion of tenure is a transfer for public convenience.  On completion of tenure, the official has to be transferred out for operational reasons.  Therefore, such a transfer is mandatory, while posting to a place of choice is secondary and subject to public convenience.  In view of this posting to a place of choice after completion of full tenure may not be normally termed as a "transfer on own request" under SR-114.      It
