Hon'ble Prime Minister releases stamp on Lala Jagat Narain

NEW DELHI: A commemorative stamp in the memory of freedom fighter and veteran journalist Lala Jagat Narain , who was gunned down 32 years back for opposing terrorism in Punjab, was released by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on Monday. Releasing the Rs 5 denomination stamp at his residence, Singh said journalists should be honest, fearless and neutral while performing their duty, even in trying circumstances. The stamp was released in presence of a host of dignitaries, including Union ministers, chief ministers of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and Punjab deputy chief minister besides editor-in-chief and CEO of Punjab Kesari newspaper, Vijay Chopra. Singh said Jagat Narain, in his career as a journalist, had opposed efforts to control the media and "his fearlessness is an example". eMail policy for government employees likely in two or so months

NEW DELHI: In order to safeguard critical data, government is likely to come out with an   e-mail policy   in two months to ensure that all its employees use only official service for communication.   "We are coming up with an e-mail policy, which regulates uses of e-mail by all the government employees who are accessing government infrastructure (the NIC facility)... the draft has been made ready and we are going for inter ministerial consultation very soon," Department of Electronics and Information Technology   (DEITY) Secretary J Satyanarayana said here.   He said the policy will address the security concerns related to communications and data.   Apart from this, government is also working on an   Internet usage policy , which regulates the use of Internet by government officials.   "... there is also an acceptable Internet usage policy... in the government environment, we need to ensure that the Internet is not misused, so to preven...
